One of a Kind Tagua Nut Rings
Artist Statement:
pépin d’or Jewellery was born the moment I first wrapped golden wire around a Tagua nut to make a pendant. The wire made the Tagua look like a golden seed, thus the french name pépin d'or.
As a jewellery maker and artist I am constantly inspired by nature, various cultures and people surrounding me, to create wearable art. During my trips to Latin America, I discovered all kinds of beautiful, exotic nuts, seeds and gemstones. I couldn’t resist but to incorporate those treasures, some from the Amazon Rainforest, the Caribbean, and other mesmerizing places in South America, into my jewellery. Every single piece that I use to create my jewellery is a reflection of all the beauty and colourful impressions that I have gathered throughout my travels. I hope to awake curiosity of these beautiful places I have been inspired by, and also create environmental awareness by creating eco chic jewellery with unique, environmentally friendly, recycled, upcycled and repurposed materials.
